My client is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Event Manager to lead the planning and delivery of outstanding events. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires flexibility, travel, and a passion for creating memorable experiences. Some events may involve short or extended stays away from home.
About the Role
As the Event Manager, you will be at the heart of event operations-from initial client inquiry through to post-event follow-up. You'll oversee every stage of the event process, ensuring each experience exceeds client expectations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of events across the UK, leading a talented team and delivering first-class service.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with clients to design tailored events. Manage schedules, logistics, and detailed planning.
- Client Management: Serve as the main point of contact, building trust and maintaining strong client relationships.
- On-Site Management: Oversee all aspects of event execution, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Supplier & Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with venues, suppliers, and service providers to secure everything needed for a successful event.
- Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a diverse team of staff including chefs, service crew, and drivers.
- Travel & Logistics: Arrange travel and accommodation for the team for events requiring overnight stays.
- Problem Solving: Address issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring smooth event delivery.
- Marketing Support: Assist with event promotion alongside the sales and marketing team.
- Budget Oversight: Manage budgets efficiently, balancing cost control with high standards.
- Post-Event Review: Conduct debriefs with clients and staff to evaluate success and identify improvements.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality, catering, or events sector.
- Strong Organisation: Able to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Client-Centric Approach: A natural focus on providing outstanding customer service.
- Leadership Skills: Confident in leading and motivating teams under pressure.
- Flexibility: Willing to travel and work evenings and weekends, including overnight stays.
- Adaptability: Able to remain calm and responsive in fast-changing environments.
- Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and written skills.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with event planning software is a bonus.
- Food Enthusiasm: A passion for food and a good understanding of catering operations.
