Job Description
Job Title: Exhibition Joiner / Fabricator
Location: Rutland
Shift Pattern: 5 in 7 working pattern (includes flexibility for events and business needs)
Salary: Circa ?40,000 ( ?20ph )
Overview:
We're looking for a skilled and driven Joiner/Fabricator to join our exhibition production team. This is a hands-on role that puts craftsmanship and collaboration at the core. You'll be creating, maintaining, and defecting both bespoke and standard exhibition assets, working closely with the production, sales, and operations teams to ensure exceptional delivery across every project-whether on-site or off-site. Your passion for woodwork, precision, and problem-solving will make you an integral part of a tight-knit, high-performing crew.
Key Duties:
* Inspect, defect, and repair both company-owned and client-owned exhibition structures.
* Fabricate brand-new assets and custom stands to spec, budget, and visual references.
* Support on-site and off-site installations, snagging, and breakdowns as part of live events.
* Collaborate with the production and sales teams to scope work, generate quotes, and suggest materials.
* Manage workshop resources and machinery including CNC, vinyl printer, and 3D printer.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with H&S policies, including ISO45001 checks and procedures.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workshop environment, conducting regular stock takes.
Key Requirements:
* Proven background as a Joiner, Carpenter, or Woodworker, ideally in exhibitions or events.
* Confident using a variety of power tools and workshop machinery (CNC experience is a plus).
* Ability to interpret visuals, technical drawings, and CAD-based designs (SketchUp, Illustrator, Becad).
* Flexible and proactive mindset; happy to jump into varied tasks across production and operations.
* Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude-collaboration is key.
* Willingness to travel and support on-site builds across the UK, sometimes outside typical hours.
* Basic understanding of Health & Safety practices, with a keen eye for detail and standards.
