My client is seeking experienced SMT operators to join their thriving business.

The role is on an ongoing temporary basis with no end date.

The Role

Are you an experienced SMT professional looking for a great role closer to home? A fantastic local electronics manufacturing business in Eastbourne is seeking a skilled SMT Operator/Engineer to join their dedicated production team. You will play a key role in running their pick-and-place lines, ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in every build.

Key Responsibilities

  * Machine Operation: Set up, program, and operate automated SMT assembly lines.

  * Process Control: Monitor solder paste printing, component placement, and reflow oven profiles.

  * Quality Inspection: Perform visual and automated optical inspections (AOI) against IPC standards.

  * Component Management: Identify, load, and verify components on feeders according to kit lists.

  * First-Line Maintenance: Keep machinery clean, calibrated, and running smoothly.

What We Are Looking For

  * Clear, hands-on experience operating SMT pick-and-place machinery.

  * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and PCB schematics.

  * Strong attention to detail with an understanding of electronic components and polarity.

  * A reliable, local team player who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship.

  * Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards is highly desirable.
