Experienced Social Worker – Children in Care
Salary: Up to £45,829 + £5,500 market premia + £3,000 annual retention payment (after 1 year’s service)
We are recruiting for an Experienced Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team at Medway Council. This is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact by ensuring the best possible outcomes for looked after children.
The Role:
Manage a varied caseload of looked after children, completing assessments, SMART care plans and reviews with clear outcomes.
Work directly with children and young people to understand their lived experiences, wishes and feelings.
Undertake life-story work to help children build a clear understanding of their family history and care journey.
Use the Signs of Safety practice model in all assessments and interventions.
Prepare high-quality reports for Looked After Children Reviews, Permanency Planning Meetings, Legal Planning Meetings and court proceedings.
Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to ensure children are kept safe and supported.
Maintain accurate case records in line with GDPR and Medway’s systems.
Keep up to date with research, practice models and legislation to ensure the highest standards of social work practice.About You:
Qualified Social Worker with successful completion of the ASYE year plus at least 2 years’ post-qualifying experience.
Registered with Social Work England.
Experience in looked after children, child protection, and court work.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and best practice models.
Strong assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children and families.
Car driver with daily business use.What’s on Offer:
