About the Company:
Our client is a successful, family-run business based in Manchester and one of the UK's leading packaging manufacturers, consultants, and suppliers. They are at the forefront of developing sustainable packaging solutions for a wide range of industries.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for Extrusion Operatives to support the operation of production machinery within their manufacturing facility.
Key Duties:
Operating extrusion and related production machinery
Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments as needed
Carrying out quality checks and reporting issues
Using hand tools as part of the production process
Working effectively in a fast-moving, hot, and noisy environment
Following all health and safety procedures on site
Basic computer input for tracking and monitoring production
Supporting general production tasks as required
Candidate Requirements:
✅ Previous experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment
✅ Experience working 12-hour continental shifts (days and nights)
✅ Good level of physical fitness and manual dexterity
✅ Confident with basic maths and English (written and spoken)
✅ Comfortable working with hand tools
✅ Background in plastics manufacturing preferred
✅ Strong awareness of health and safety
✅ Computer literate
✅ Forklift truck licence desirable but not essential
Shift Patterns:
7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
All breaks are fully paid - no deductions from your shift pay.
