Contract Length: Temp to Perm
Job Purpose
To operate within the Extrusion Department to maximise production output safely and efficiently, ensuring consistent product quality and minimal waste. This role works on a 12-hour shift pattern.
Job Description
Deliver departmental targets for safety, quality, hygiene, housekeeping, and production.
Accurately record and maintain all required production data and documentation.
Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in line with procedures.
Monitor processes, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems when required.
Conduct regular quality checks at defined intervals.
Support maintenance activities when necessary.
Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Responsibilities
Maintain safety and accident levels within target.
Ensure quality and hygiene standards are achieved; promptly address non-conformance.
Achieve departmental objectives for waste reduction, productivity, utilisation, and cost.
Escalate temporary machinery fixes and support long-term solutions.
Accurately generate and submit shift production reports.
Complete daily logbooks, recording all issues and actions taken.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in machine or production line operation, ideally within manufacturing.
Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Flexibility to work varying shift patterns as required.
Sound decision-making skills with a safety-first mindset.
