Job Description

Nurture Teachers (EYFS Focus) – Salford £26–£30 per hour (PAYE) Flexible Hours | 1:1 Relational Teaching | Immediate Start Are you an experienced or early years trained teacher looking for a more balanced, meaningful way to work? Do you believe that connection, play, and curiosity are at the heart of how young children learn? We’re looking for compassionate EYFS educators in Salford who want to step away from the pressures of mainstream settings and make a genuine impact — one little learner at a time. Why this role? This isn’t your typical teaching job. As a Nurture Teacher working with EYFS and early primary-aged children, you’ll deliver 1:1, play-based learning to children who are currently outside of mainstream education. These children often need more than academic support — they need trust, consistency, and a nurturing presence. You’ll have the space to follow each child’s interests, build confidence through relational play, and gently support early learning goals in a way that feels natural and safe. What you’ll be doing: * Delivering bespoke, play-based sessions tailored to each child’s stage and needs — incorporating early phonics, early numeracy, sensory play, and story-led learning * Embedding Theraplay-informed approaches (if trained or familiar) to build connection, trust, and co-regulation * Supporting emotional development, early social interaction, and foundational life skills * Creating calm, engaging environments for learning — whether in libraries, community settings, local schools, or occasionally in the child’s home (all fully risk-assessed) * Working in a trauma-informed, relational way, always putting the child’s emotional safety first * Helping children reconnect with learning and feel safe to explore the world again This is for you if you: * Lead with empathy, playfulness, and patience * Understand the power of attachment, routines, and sensory regulation in early childhood * Know how to adapt the EYFS framework creatively around each child’s interests and emotional needs * Have experience with or an interest in Theraplay, nurture principles, or trauma-informed practice * Believe relationships come before routines, and that learning begins with connection Essential requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) * Experience or understanding of: * SEND * SEMH * EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) * EYFS Curriculum * Learning through play This role is ideal for: * EYFS specialists seeking a more meaningful, supported way to teach * Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who want to build deep, impactful relationships with learners * Experienced or retired EYFS teachers who still want to make a difference — with the flexibility to choose when and how they work What you'll receive: * £26–£30 per hour (PAYE) * Flexible hours to fit around your lifestyle and wellbeing * A dedicated, understanding consultant who truly gets this type of work * Access to CPD, reflective supervision, and trauma-informed training * Peer support events, EYFS-focused Nurture Teacher meetups, and shared resources * A genuinely kind, values-led team who will have your back every step of the way Join us If you’re ready to teach in a way that feels human again — led by relationships, play, and purpose — we’d love to hear from you. Let’s nurture the youngest learners with curiosity, compassion, and joy — one relationship at a time. 🌱 We are an equal opportunities employer and committed to building a diverse, inclusive team. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and robust safeguarding procedures
