EYFS Teaching Assistant (Full time, permanent)
Location: Nottingham, NG7
Start Date: January 5th, 2026
Salary: £85-£115 per day
Education Personnel is working with a welcoming and well-established primary school in the NG7 area of Nottingham to recruit a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant. The school is known for its strong early years provision and its emphasis on child-led, exploratory learning, creating an environment where young children feel confident, supported, and excited to learn.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurturing and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant who is passionate about early child development and eager to help provide the best possible start for young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of high-quality, play-based learning within the EYFS framework
* Work closely with the class teacher to prepare engaging activities that promote early communication, personal development, and foundational skills
* Provide targeted support to children with early language needs, SEND, or those requiring additional nurturing
* Help supervise continuous provision both indoors and in the Outdoor Curiosity Campus, encouraging safe, imaginative, and purposeful play
* Observe, record, and contribute to assessments such as Learning Journeys and EYFS profiles
* Build positive relationships with parents and carers, supporting a strong home–school partnership
* Promote the school’s values, wellbeing ethos, and inclusive learning culture
* Contribute to the wider early years team, sharing creative ideas and supporting school events and initiatives
Requirements:
* Experience working with children in an EYFS environment (nursery or reception)
* Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, early child development, and play-based learning
* Ability to support children with varying needs, including early speech and language, social/emotional needs, and SEND
* Confident in facilitating small-group and 1:1 activities
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy early years team
* A warm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young children
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Early Years/Teaching Assistant qualification)
* A love of outdoor learning and willingness to engage in all-weather play
