Fabric Maintenance Engineer – Birmingham – £30,000–£35,000 (Days)
Monday to Friday – Days, with flexible start time to suit
We’re recruiting for a Fabric Engineer on behalf of a respected national FM provider. You’ll be working on-site at a high-profile leisure and entertainment facility in Birmingham — a calm, well-maintained site where your focus will be on preventative upkeep and minor repairs.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys consistency, autonomy, and knowing their site inside out. The building runs smoothly, and the day-to-day is rarely chaotic — but your role will be to keep it that way.
You’ll take care of the “little jobs” that stop things becoming big problems. From daily pre-opening checks on doors and lifts to minor reactive tasks — like fixing a door handle, replacing a cracked light switch, or unblocking a WC — your work keeps the site safe, compliant, and looking its best.
We’re looking for someone proactive, practical, and self-sufficient. You won’t be overloaded with tasks — but you will need to actively stay on top of the site and keep things ticking over. This is a brilliant fit for someone who takes quiet pride in doing a job properly.
What You’ll Need:

General maintenance experience (fabric, carpentry, plumbing, decorating etc.)

A ‘get-up-and-go’ mindset — you’ll be trusted to manage your own time and spot jobs that need doing
*
A CSCS card, PASMA or IPAF would be helpful but not essential
*
Basic tablet skills (for logging tasks and compliance checks — training provided)
