Prestige Recruitment Specialists have been asked by our client with engineering training centres in Hull, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe to find an experienced industry professional to step into an exciting role as a Welding/Fabrication Instructor.
This organisation works with over 300 client companies, delivering Level 3 engineering apprenticeships and upskilling programs, and is partnered with major names in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. Playing a key role in developing local, regional, and national engineering talent, this role offers a chance to make a lasting impact on the future of the industry.
The Role
In this practical, workshop-based role, you'll train and mentor the next generation of engineers. You'll use your industry experience to equip learners with the technical skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to thrive in the engineering sector. No two days are the same - this is a dynamic, hands-on role within a supportive training environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality training to young people on engineering apprenticeship programmes.
Promote and support engineering apprenticeships and vocational training.
Deliver regulated qualifications (full training and support provided).
Use your industry expertise to guide learners toward achieving their full potential.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Strong knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, plating, and sheet metal work, with expertise in at least one area.
A City & Guilds Craft Certificate or equivalent qualification.
A solid understanding of Health & Safety practices and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills and basic computer literacy.
A passion for teaching, mentoring, and sharing real-world experience.
Desirable (But Not Essential)
Assessor or teaching qualifications (training and support will be provided if you don't already have these).
Location & Travel
Based at the Hull training centre.
A valid driving license and access to your own vehicle is required, as occasional travel to other training centres may be necessary.
