Job Description

Our client is a LV Switchgear Manufacturer that has been based in the Northeast since the early 90’s and have since established themselves with clients across the UK which has resulted in multi million-pound turnover within the last decade. They have a brand new, state of the art production facility and are now in need of a Fabrication Manager to run the shop floor which consists of 37 fitters and wiremen who are at varying levels of experience. This is an excellent opportunity for team leaders, supervisors or current managers who are looking for that next step up, with plenty of progression once there too. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning and Scheduling: Developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and timelines to meet deadlines and customer requirements. Resource Management: Ensuring the availability of necessary materials, equipment, and personnel for production. Quality Control: Establishing and enforcing quality control standards, monitoring production processes, and implementing quality control programs. Team Leadership: Supervising and motivating production teams, setting performance goals, and providing training and development opportunities. Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any safety concerns. Cost Management: Monitoring production costs, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency, and contributing to budget management. Process Improvement: Implementing new fabrication techniques and technologies to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. Communication and Collaboration: Liaising with other departments (e.g., sales, purchasing, quality control) to ensure smooth production flow and effective communication within the team. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of production activities, generating reports, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement. Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations. Experience with production planning, scheduling, and resource management. Proficiency in relevant software and tools. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
