£16 – 20 an hour dependant upon experience + 1.5x Overtime Saturdays and 2x Sundays
The Company
Our client designs and manufactures highly bespoke and crafted fabricated systems for customers who manufacture a wide range of spirits and alcohol. These products have true heritage and history and the skill required in their fabrication is second to none.
The site in East Lothian is part of a large global group of companies who are aiming to be the world leader in their field. The group turns over circa €300 million and is backed by an owning party who turnover in excess of $1 Billion proving them with incredible long term job security and plenty of opportunity to invest at site. In 2025 alone they are investing in excess of £1 million on Capex.
The business employs a team of just under 30 at the site and have a strong order book already carrying them through 2026. As a result, they are looking to invest in further growth of the team with plans to recruit a further five Fabricators into the team. The Role
The role of Fabricator will involve taking sheets of copper and through a process of machine and manual processes fabricating them until incredible finished products as per drawings provided by engineering.
Your role will include:
Carrying out traditional smithing activities – this can be very physical work.
MIG and TIG welding
Use of Guillotines and Press Brakers
Operating Automatic hammers
Metal Folding
You will initially be paired with a senior member of the team who will guide you in the bespoke techniques required for the role.
You will get to work on projects where you are fabricating vessels with a huge range of exotic shapes and sizes which will allow you to broaden your fabrication skills.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Fabricator role you will need:
Experience in fabricating bespoke equipment
Strong competence with either MIG or TIG Welding
To be comfortable working with either stainless steel, titanium or copper
To take pride in your craft
To have a passion for a strong desire to develop into a coppersmith
Strong attention to detail
The ability to interpret engineering drawings
