Job Description
DK Recruitment are proud to be recruiting Marine Fabricators for our client based at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth for a 26 weeks contract.. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of some of the most prestigious engineering projects in the UK, working across Warships, Submarines, and within factory environments supporting these key defence programmes.
The Role
As a Marine Fabricator, you’ll use your fabrication expertise to carry out structural repairs, modifications, and manufacturing on a wide range of platforms. You will:
* Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Manufacture, fabricate and alter structures in a variety of metals and thicknesses
* Undertake structural repairs and alterations to support key naval projects
* Operate general workshop tools and machinery safely and effectively
If you bring technical skill, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety, we can offer you the chance to work on some of the most exciting and nationally significant engineering projects in the country.
Requirements
* Proven fabrication experience
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Competence in using general workshop tools and machinery
* Ideally experience within the marine engineering sector – including work on Royal Navy ships, submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, or large commercial ships (other relevant heavy engineering experience will also be considered)
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
* Experience working in a marine engineering environment
* Time-served apprenticeship within Marine or Naval Engineering
* One of the following qualifications:
* Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to Fabrication
* Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in Sheet Metal, Structural Steel, or Fabrication discipline
* Level 3 Engineering Qualification relevant to the role
Additional Requirements
* Ability to obtain and hold SC (Security Check) Clearance
