A well-established heavy engineering and manufacturing business, serving the quarrying and aggregate industries, is seeking skilled Fabricator / Welders to join their Fabrication Shop. This business is known for producing high-quality material handling equipment and components.
With a full order book and consistent demand, they are offering opportunities on both day and PM shifts. You will be a key player in a hands-on environment where quality, safety and efficiency are paramount.
The Role:
· Fabricating and welding heavy gauge steel components in line with engineering drawings.
· Working closely with other fabricators, welders and production staff to meet deadlines.
· Maintaining high standards of workmanship and ensuring all work complies with internal quality standards.
· Completing production records and job paperwork accurately and on time.
· Following strict health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
· Reporting defects, issues or near misses promptly.
· Participating in toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Need:
· Proven experience as a fabricator and/or welder in a heavy engineering environment.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
· Strong MIG welding skills (heavy gauge steel).
· High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
· Flexible approach towards overtime when required (particularly for PM shift).
· Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.
Shifts Available:
PM Shift (Mon to Thurs)
· Hours: 14:15 to 00:30 (38.75 hours per week)
· Pay: £17.56 - £18.00 per hour (includes shift allowance, depending on experience)
· Overtime available (paid at enhanced rates after 48 hours per week), e.g., Friday evenings
Day Shift (Mon to Fri)
· Hours: 06:00 to 14:15 (38.75 hours per week)
· Pay: £15.94 per hour
All staff are paid monthly on the last working day of the month.
