Working on Facade projects valued up to £6m covering Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Rainscreen and Windows & Doors.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Design Lead to join their team. In this role, you will lead a small design team of 3–4, driving projects from concept through to delivery while championing creativity, quality, and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a leadership role within a close-knit team and enjoys a hybrid working environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a small design team (3–4 members), fostering professional development and collaboration.

Take ownership of architectural aluminium design projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical accuracy and design excellence.

Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver innovative and practical design solutions.
*
Maintain high standards of design documentation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
*
Promote a creative, solution-focused culture within the design team.
*
Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
*
Proven experience in architectural design, preferably with a focus on aluminium or façade systems.
*
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing small teams.
*
Proficient in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
*
Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
*
Ability to work independently while providing guidance to your team.
