Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facades Estimator to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating within the construction or related sectors and be able to work independently on multiple tenders while collaborating closely with the Director.
Key Responsibilities
*
Review and analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
*
Conduct site visits and surveys as required to inform tender preparation
*
Accurately measure and complete take-offs for materials, labour, and plant
*
Prepare and submit competitive tenders, typically within 1-3 week return periods
*
Manage multiple tenders simultaneously (typically 1 to 3 projects at any time)
*
Identify and communicate tender qualifications, assumptions, and exclusions
*
Propose value engineering options to improve project viability
*
Source, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
*
Liaise with internal departments and sister companies to gather required inputs and ensure alignment
*
Where appropriate, provide guidance and oversight to junior team members
*
Report regularly to the Director on estimating performance, pipeline status, and commercial issues
*
Support other internal teams (e.g. sales or operations) with estimating-related inputs when needed
Essential Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience in an Estimator role within construction or a related field
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
*
Strong analytical and numerical skills
*
Clear and confident communication skills (both written and spoken English)
*
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
*
Detail-oriented and well-organised approach to work
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and be a key contributor to the company’s commercial success. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and eager to take ownership of their projects.
