FACILITIES ASSISTANT
A Good Secondary School based in Redbridge, is looking for an experienced Facilities Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This large Community school located in the borough of Redbridge, are looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join their team from September 2025. The Senior Leadership Team have the highest expectations and ambitions for every student. The school have recently completed their rebuild and the facilities available are fantastic.
The Senior Leadership Team are very supportive of their staff and are always trying to better there expertise. Having been graded Good in their last Ofsted, it was stated that "Leaders and their staff work together to maintain high expectations of all pupils. This leads to pupils good behaviour and positive relationships."
The school is located with walking distance from London Overground Stations and has parking available. Do to the hours of this role, living in the local area would be beneficial.
FACILITIES ASSISTANT:
The Facilities Assistant is responsible for ensuring the site is maintained to a high operational standard by carrying out duties in relation to security and maintenance of the premises, co-ordination of health and safety of pupils and staff, contract management and provision of high-quality lettings management.
Responsibilities:
To carry out repairs and maintenance on site, to ensure the smooth running of the school (training and tools provided).
To set out tables and chairs as directed for school events, exam halls, lunch halls etc.
To be responsible for the collection of confidential waste and its disposal with the external agents.
To deputise for the Site Management in his absence as directed.
To carry out a weekly check on the school minibus, as indicated in the Minibus Handbook.
To drive the minibus as directed.
To ensure security of the premises and its contents (including the operation of fire and burglar alarms).
To be a key holder.
To carry out winter maintenance on the school site as required.
To carry out any relevant training as required by the school or as requested by the Facilities Manager;

To assist the grounds person as directed, ie marking out the pitches etc.
To carry additional hours as required to suit the operational needs of the school for out of hours activities as directed.
To attend out of normal working hours any emergency situations which may arise.
To manage the premises during periods of time when the building may be let to external hires and to report any infringement of the school's letting regulations to the Facilities Manager.
To assist with the delivery of parcels to staff as directed.
To be responsible for the distribution of Hi-Vis waistcoats to nominated staff in an emergency, including fire drills.
To liaise with external agents and contractors as necessary.
To be a trained First Aider.
To be flexible on shift pattern.
To review and develop your own professional practice, including taking part in annual performance reviews.
Any other such matter that the Facilities Manager or the Headteacher may reasonably request.Role requirements:
Proactive attitude with attention to detail and pride in presentation.
Team player with a hands-on, can-do approach.
Willingness to be trained as a First Aider (training provided).
Prior experience of working as a Facilities Assistant in a school setting would be desirable. Apply today to be considered for this role!
