Are you a Facilities and Services Engineer ready to step up into leadership?
Rapid Personnel is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Facilities and Services Engineering Team Leader to oversee our clients site’s infrastructure, utilities, and essential services located in Newbury.
This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and site services, supporting the smooth running of our food manufacturing operations.
You’ll be a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and experience developing teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor the facilities engineering team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
* Manage budgets, contractors, and resources to deliver cost-efficient services.
* Oversee utilities operations (electricity, gas, water, steam, effluent plant, compressed air, refrigeration).
* Implement energy management initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
* Manage building security, fire safety, and site infrastructure maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with H&S, food safety, and environmental legislation.
* Deliver small-to-medium engineering projects on time and within budget.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers, ensuring performance standards are met.
* Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across site facilities.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships across production, quality, and support teams.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or Building Services).
* Experience in facilities management within a manufacturing or food production environment.
* Knowledge of UK legislation (H&S, environmental, food safety).
* Proven ability to lead teams and manage contractors.
* Project management skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Hours and Pay
* 08:30-16:30 (Could be flexible with start and finsih time)

31 days holiday (including Christmas Day & New Year’s Eve; bank holidays are normal working days).
