Facilities Manager – 3 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Sheffield
Contract: Fixed Term – 3 Months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30
Sector: Student Accommodation / Residential Property

TSR Recruitment are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day facilities and maintenance operation of a large 417-unit student and private residential development in Sheffield.

This is an initial 3-month fixed-term position, managing a small on-site maintenance team and ensuring the development is maintained to a high standard for residents.

The Role

As Facilities Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of all maintenance and facilities activities across the development. You will oversee a team of 2–3 Maintenance Operatives, prioritising workloads and ensuring repairs, planned maintenance and compliance requirements are dealt with efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing and coordinating a team of 2–3 on-site Maintenance Operatives
Overseeing reactive and planned maintenance across the 417-unit development
Allocating and monitoring daily maintenance jobs
Managing external contractors and specialist service providers
Carrying out regular inspections of communal areas, plant rooms and facilities
Ensuring health & safety and statutory compliance requirements are maintained
Monitoring fire safety, emergency lighting and other building compliance requirements
Dealing with maintenance issues raised by residents and the management team
Ensuring works are completed promptly and to an appropriate standard
Maintaining accurate maintenance, compliance and contractor records
Supporting the wider management team with the day-to-day operation of the development

The Candidate

We are looking for someone with previous experience in Facilities Management, Building Management, Property Management or a similar maintenance-led role.

Experience within student accommodation, residential developments, apartment blocks, PBSA or Build to Rent would be particularly advantageous.

You should be:

Confident managing a small maintenance team
Experienced in planned and reactive maintenance
Knowledgeable regarding building health & safety and compliance
Comfortable managing contractors and suppliers
Organised and able to prioritise a busy workload
Hands-on and proactive in resolving day-to-day issues
A strong communicator with a professional approach to residents and contractors

Hours

Monday to Friday – 08:30 to 17:30
