Role Summary: Factory Operations Manager
This is a pivotal leadership role, focused on elevating the West midlands site to the next level of operational excellence. The Factory Operations Manager will oversee the full scope of factory operations, including the abattoir, boning hall, retail packing, technical services, site infrastructure, whilst supporting functions such as IT and engineering.
We are looking for a proven operations leader with substantial experience in food production, within the meat processing sector. The successful candidate will bring a strong track record in driving continuous improvement, maintaining exceptional food safety and quality standards, and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, demonstrating excellent people management skills, a deep understanding of compliance and audit readiness, and the ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all aspects of site operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with Company, OSI, and customer standards.
* Drive a culture of operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and deliver the site strategy in alignment with group objectives.
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation bodies.
* Oversee staffing, training, and development to support performance, retention, and succession planning.
* Work closely with Technical teams to maintain audit readiness and uphold accreditation standards.
* Support sustainability goals, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and the use of the anaerobic digestion plant.
* Manage departmental budgets, cost control, and performance reporting to ensure profitability.
* Coordinate with OSI Group counterparts and external stakeholders to align on best practices.
* Use production and performance data to drive decision-making and improve KPIs.
* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Partner with the sales team to support existing and new business, taking ownership of key relationships and communication
