Family Help Social Worker | Hillingdon | £39.04 per Hour Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced Social Workers to join the Family Help Team within the London Borough of Hillingdon. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly supportive and stable service that works with families requiring targeted intervention, safeguarding support and long-term planning. Hillingdon is seeking experienced practitioners with a strong understanding of risk assessment, safeguarding thresholds and child protection practice who are committed to delivering positive outcomes for children and families. The Family Help Team offers manageable caseloads, supportive management and excellent development opportunities. Social Workers typically work with around 10 families, allowing practitioners to undertake purposeful and relationship-based interventions. Why Join Hillingdon? Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection and Family Help work. Complete high-quality assessments and interventions to achieve positive outcomes. Work collaboratively with a dedicated Child Protection Lead to undertake new Section 47 enquiries. Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to robust planning for children and families. Build effective partnerships with schools, health professionals and other agencies. Ensure children's voices remain central to all assessments and planning. Duty Expectations: Duty responsibility undertaken one week in every four. During duty weeks, attendance in the office is required up to three days per week. During non-duty weeks, office attendance is typically once per week. Candidates should live within reasonable travelling distance of Hillingdon to support emergency and urgent duty requirements when necessary. Team Structure: The service benefits from a separate Court Team, which assumes responsibility for cases once care proceedings have been issued, enabling Family Help Social Workers to focus on delivering effective support and safeguarding interventions before court action becomes necessary. Requirements: Social Work England Registration. Right to Work in the UK. Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services. Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds, risk assessment and child protection practice. Experience undertaking Child in Need and Child Protection work within a local authority setting.
