The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Family Solicitor to join and lead our Family Department. This is a significant opportunity for the right candidate - you will not only manage a strong caseload but also shape, and develop your own team, influencing the strategic growth of the department.
The successful candidate will handle a broad range of family matters arising primarily across Manchester and Stockport, including:
* Divorce and separation
* Financial remedy work
* Private law children matters
* Domestic abuse and injunction applications
* Cohabitation disputes, including TOLATA issues
This is a role for someone who wants both responsibility and room to build something of their own within a respected, long-established practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Family Department with confidence, clarity and professionalism.
* Manage a varied caseload across all areas of family law.
* Deliver practical, tactical advice tailored to each client’s circumstances.
* Prepare cases thoroughly and represent clients with authority and empathy.
* Uphold the firm’s high standards of integrity, client care and legal excellence.
What We’re Looking For
* A qualified Family Solicitor with strong experience at Senior Associate level (PQE flexible for the right candidate).
* Proven ability to manage complex financial and children matters.
* Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
* A steady, strategic thinker who handles sensitive issues with care and confidence.
* Someone ready to take ownership of a department and contribute to its long-term direction.
