Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Family Time Worker to join a Childrens Services team within a Local Authority. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week.
Overview:
The successful candidate will support supervised family time between children and their family members while ensuring a safe, positive, and child centred environment. This role focuses on promoting high quality interactions, safeguarding children, and providing clear written observations to support ongoing care planning.
Main Duties:
* Supervise family time sessions in a safe and supportive setting
* Record clear, objective observations to assist social work assessments
* Develop session plans that meet each child’s individual needs
* Promote positive engagement and model appropriate parenting approaches
* Ensure the emotional and physical safety of children at all times
* Provide written reports to Social Workers in a timely manner
* Transport children to and from family time sessions when required
* Work closely with Social Workers, carers, and families to support care plans
* Escalate any safeguarding concerns in line with local procedures
* Support children to feel comfortable and listened to during sessions
Essential Criteria:
* Relevant NVQ level 3 qualification, i.e. childcare, children and families, etc.
* Experience supporting children and families within a social care or community based setting
* Strong communication and observation skills
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child centred practice
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain objective
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
