Farm Manager Agriculture Fishing and Forestry Annual Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience Location: Shropshire Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Our client, a leading agricultural enterprise in Shropshire, is seeking a Farm Manager to join their team. Specializing in the cultivation, packaging, and distribution of root vegetables, they supply major supermarkets and various sectors across the UK. Upholding high standards and adapting to the evolving food market, they are in search of a proactive leader to oversee their farming operations. Day-to-day of the role: Oversee efficient farm operations, demonstrating exemplary leadership and understanding. Manage the entire farm staff and oversee the recruitment and training of new personnel as needed. Control farming-related expenses and manage administrative tasks, including the issuance of purchase orders through their internal system. Ensure all farm functions operate smoothly while upholding strict health and safety standards. Respond to changing priorities and manage unexpected challenges effectively. Employ agricultural technology and equipment proficiently. Formulate and enforce farming policies and practices. Keep meticulous service records for all agricultural equipment and manage inventory and chemicals efficiently. Commit to ongoing professional development to enhance agricultural knowledge and skills. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven track record in farm management, ideally with experience in root vegetables. Strong capabilities in planning and organization. Comprehensive knowledge of agricultural practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Attention to detail and the physical stamina required for outdoor work in various weather conditions. Reliable, down-to-earth, and approachable, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
