The Company:
We are working exclusively with a well-established visitor destination in the East Midlands. It is home to a thriving Farm Shop showcasing local and estate-produced food and drink. Featuring a butcher, fresh counter, food hall, gifts, wine and spirits, the shop has become a flagship for championing local artisan producers and is set for ambitious growth.
They are seeking an experienced Farm Shop Manager to lead and grow this important retail outlet. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine commercial know-how with genuine passion for artisan food and drink.
Role & Responsibilities of the Farm Shop Manager:
* Lead daily operations and deliver excellent service standards on the shop floor.
* Manage a small team (butcher, fresh counter staff, shop assistants) including recruitment, rotas, and training.
* Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships with a focus on local producers.
* Drive commercial performance: manage budgets, improve margins, and grow turnover.
* Recommend and implement pricing, promotions, and product range development.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
* Act as an ambassador for local and artisan food, engaging customers and building loyalty.
About You as the Farm Shop Manager:
* Passionate about artisan food & drink and excited to champion local producers.
* Proven experience in food retail such as farm shops, delis, food halls, or fresh food retail.
* Strong commercial skills: able to manage budgets, stock, and margins effectively.
* Hands-on leader who inspires a small team and maintains excellent service standards.
* Confident on fresh counters, able to engage customers and share product knowledge.
* Flexible and customer-focused, ready to work weekends and busy seasonal periods.
* Motivated to take ownership of a flagship food retail destination and drive growth.
