The Company:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Retail Assistant with experience working with fresh foods to join a busy farm shop team near Grantham. You’ll play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience at their fresh food counters, while ensuring top standards of presentation, food safety and service.
Role & Responsibilities of the Farm Shop Retail Assistant:
* Serve customers at the fresh meat and cheese counters with a friendly, knowledgeable approach.
* Support with stock management, including rotation, ordering, pricing and merchandising.
* Promote products through upselling and cross-selling, helping customers discover new favourites.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and personal presentation at all times.
* Ensure accurate records are kept (temperatures, stock, deliveries etc).
* Work flexibly as part of a supportive team to keep the shop running smoothly.
About You as the Farm Shop Retail Assistant:
* Experience in a retail, food, deli, or butchery environment (preferred but not essential).
* Knowledge of handling meat and/or cheese (Food Hygiene Level 3 desirable).
* Strong customer service skills – approachable, confident and helpful.
* Organised and reliable, with good attention to detail.
* Comfortable using stock systems and tills (training provided).
Role Details:
* The farm shop is open 7 days per week (9am-5pm), this role will be working 5 days per week including weekends.
* The location is rural, therefore a driver’s licence will be required for accessibility (there are no local transport routes).
* Role would be suitable for a personable and presentable individual who is keen to work in a luxury farm shop with a background working at independent stores, farm shops, garden centres etc.
