Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer - Aerospace Wing Structures
Rate: £42-£46/hour UMB (Non-Approver) | £48-£52/hour UMB (Approver)
Hours: 35 per week (between 07:00-19:00, Flexible hours, 4.5-day week)
Join a highly skilled Wing Analysis Engineering team as a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer, contributing to the structural integrity of leading aerospace products. This role supports incremental developments across both Single Aisle and Widebody aircraft, offering exposure to a broad spectrum of the Product Development Plan (PDP), from feasibility to certification and in-service modifications.
You will take technical responsibility for delivering and approving F&DT assessments using industry-standard tools and processes. Those with existing or near-approver status are particularly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Approve or produce F&DT deliverables ensuring compliance with certification requirements
Lead technical problem-solving using appropriate F&DT methods
Support PDP phases including continuous airworthiness and cost-reduction initiatives
Mentor and technically develop junior engineers
Contribute new ideas from cross-industry experience or research background
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong background in structural analysis with focus on fatigue and damage tolerance
Experience with relevant aerospace tools and analysis techniques
Solid understanding of aircraft structural design and behaviour
Approver status in F&DT (or close to obtaining) highly desirable
Ability to challenge conventional approaches and suggest innovative solutions
