FE (Finite Element) Analyst - Junior & Senior positions available
Salary: £35k - £60k dependent upon experience
Overview
We are currently looking for several FE Analysts, from junior to senior levels, with experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, petrochemical, oil & gas etc) to join our clients team based in Bristol.
Responsibilities
Depending on your experience and the scope of the position, your responsibilities may include:
Structural and Performance Analysis: Conduct comprehensive finite element analyses to evaluate the structural, thermal, and mechanical behavior of components under various operating conditions.
Project Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including design, testing, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure products meet performance, safety, and durability criteria.
Model Development: Build, validate, and document finite element models using state-of-the-art simulation software.
Result Interpretation: Analyse simulation results and create clear reports and presentations to convey key insights and recommend design improvements.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest advancements in FEA methodologies and contribute innovative solutions to enhance engineering processes.
Mentoring: (For senior positions) Guide junior team members, offering technical leadership and supporting their development.
Qualifications
Required
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred) or with equivalent experience.
FEA Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperMesh, or similar).
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, such as stress analysis, thermal modeling, materials science, and fatigue analysis.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to explain technical findings to diverse audiences.
Teamwork: Proven capability to thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary settings while also excelling independently.
CAD Familiarity: Experience with geometry creation and preparation for simulation workflows.
Preferred
Industry Experience: Prior experience in highly regulated fields such as nuclear, automotive, aerospace, or energy sectors.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to automate analysis tasks or enhance simulation workflows.
Advanced Skills: Familiarity with optimization techniques, multi-physics simulations, or dynamic scenarios (e.g., seismic or impact analysis).
Standards Proficiency: Clear understanding of technical drawings and compliance with industry standards.
