Our client is seeking a dedicated Private Client Paralegal to join their team. This role involves drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), handling probate applications, and managing estate administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Wills and Probate, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to manage cases independently under appropriate supervision. The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience as a fee-earning paralegal within Private Client law, with a solid understanding of estate planning, probate processes, and regulatory compliance. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy are essential. The role also requires strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Firm: Established in the 1800s, The Firm operates across Leicestershire & Warwickshire, delivering legal services for both businesses and individuals. Its transformation from a 19th Century high street Solicitors Firm to a modern, adaptive law firm underscores the firm's dedication to the ever-changing legal landscape. Acknowledging the vital support received from local communities on their journey to success, The Firm places a strong emphasis on giving back. This commitment is evident in their community involvement, encompassing pro bono work, educational support, fostering connections with local businesses, and supporting local clubs and societies. The Firm harbours a profound passion for contributing to local charities in the areas where their offices are located. What will be expected of you? Confidently lead client meetings, providing advice, addressing concerns, and offering guidance on relevant legal matters. Oversee file management, ensuring cases progress smoothly with consistent client communication. Assist in the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), including producing final versions and handling document registration. Handle applications for Grants of Probate, coordinating with HMRC when required. Generate and provide accurate cost estimates to potential clients. Conduct due diligence checks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Manage new client onboarding, including setting up files and collecting necessary documentation. Draft and issue probate-related correspondence and handling estate administration processes. Process invoices and prepare requisition slips. Organise and maintain client records within the Case Management System. Ensure the secure handling and storage of executed Wills. Draft and distribute legal communications via email, letters, or client portals. Provide support in the absence of the supervising fee earner, ensuring continuity of case management. Confidently respond to client and third-party queries via phone and in person. Assist clients with signing legal documents and provide clarification when needed. Archive completed files in line with firm policies. Maintain the confidentiality and security of all client records and legal documents. Support general office administration, including answering calls and directing inquiries. Stay informed on updates in fraud prevention, data protection, anti-money laundering, and cybercrime regulations. Continuously develop expertise in Wills, Probate, and Private Client law. In return for your hard work and dedication the Firm offer a competitive salary, ongoing professional development, bank holidays and many other benefits.
