Job Description
Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for on a Rolling Contract, based across the UK.
Role Summary
To install, splice, test, and maintain fibre optic cables and connections on new build housing developments, ensuring high-quality network performance and reliable service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out fibre optic splicing, termination, and testing on new build housing developments and associated infrastructure.
* Install fibre optic cables, closures, and enclosures to meet build and network design specifications.
* Read and interpret network schematics, site plans, and fibre routing diagrams.
* Conduct OTDR, light source, and power meter testing to verify network integrity and performance.
* Identify, locate, and repair fibre faults or damages in a timely manner.
* Liaise with site managers, builders, and other contractors to coordinate installation schedules and ensure work aligns with project timelines.
* Maintain accurate test results, splicing records, and as-built documentation.
* Comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and company policies on-site.
What we are Looking for
* Make CBTs live (if not already activated)
* Pull fibre from CBT to customer premises
* Splice fibre at the customer’s property
* Deliver clean, tested, and documented handovers
Requirements
* Must have own van and full tool kit
* Hold valid CSCS card
* Required accreditations: N23, SA001, SA002, SA006
* Proven experience in fibre splicing and FTTP builds
* Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites
