The Opportunity
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Field Engineer specialising in welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) to support quality assurance activities on a major nuclear construction project. This is a site-based role requiring a proactive approach to quality control, documentation, and contractor oversight.
We would also welcome applications from these industries: oil & gas, petrochemical, defence, marine, and heavy engineering.
This role would suit candidates working in these roles: Welding Inspector, NDT Technician, QA/QC Engineer, Site Quality Engineer, Fabrication Inspector, Pressure Systems Engineer, Structural Steel Inspector, Construction Quality Engineer, Field QA Specialist, Mechanical Site Engineer.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Oversee welding and NDT activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Identify and address potential quality issues to support timely project delivery.
Raise and manage non-conformance reports with clear documentation.
Review inspection records and quality control plans for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor contractor performance against agreed standards and procedures.
Support site-wide health, safety, and environmental goals.
Ensure all reporting and documentation meet regulatory and quality benchmarks.You will have the following qualifications and experience
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (or equivalent).
Current or previous qualifications in multiple NDT techniques.
Hands-on experience with pressure systems and structural steel in a construction environment.
Strong working knowledge of British/European standards including RCC-M and BS EN.
Demonstrable QA/QC expertise with clear and concise reporting skills.Get in touch now
