Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Portbury, Bristol/North Somerset
Remuneration: £17.45 per hour (On target earnings due to travel and overtime £45,000-£50,000)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (39 hours + Overtime)

Our client is searching for a motivated, hands-on professional to join their growing team in Portbury, North Somerset.
Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the Depot Foreman and ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Servicing and maintaining generators both on-site and in the depot
Fault-finding on control panels and AC/DC electrical systems
Performing mechanical and electrical repairs
Joining the out-of-hours on-call rota (including Bank Holidays)
Communicating directly with customers to ensure excellent service
Completing essential maintenance paperwork (service sheets, PDI sheets, etc.)
Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
We welcome applicants who are already in engineering roles as well as mechanically minded candidates with transferable skills. Ideal applicants will have:
An NVQ in plant maintenance or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Desired but not essential as all training given)
Experience in the generator or plant hire industry (advantageous but not essential)
Strong ability to manage and prioritise workloads
A full UK driving licence held for at least 3 years
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A forklift licence (training available if needed)
