We’re recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing business operating within the electro-mechanical equipment and service solutions sector.

This is a field-based role covering Hertfordshire and parts of London, supporting customers with the installation, service, maintenance and repair of specialist equipment located primarily within retail and customer-facing environments.

It’s a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical issues on-site, and building strong relationships with customers. There is also genuine scope for the role to develop as the UK operation continues to grow.

The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of electro-mechanical equipment across customer sites. You’ll attend breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance, support new equipment installs, and provide basic training and guidance to end users where needed.

Alongside the hands-on engineering side, you’ll also be expected to complete accurate service documentation, maintain compliance records, and ensure work is carried out safely and professionally at all times.

Key responsibilities

  * Carry out service, maintenance and repair work on customer equipment

  * Attend reactive breakdowns and resolve faults in a timely manner

  * Install, commission and decommission equipment on-site

  * Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times

  * Provide basic user guidance and training where required

  * Complete service reports and associated documentation using company systems

  * Produce risk assessments and method statements where needed

  * Carry out site audits, inspections and equipment evaluations

  * Maintain high standards of health and safety, compliance and housekeeping

About you

We’re keen to hear from engineers who already have field service experience and are comfortable working across mechanical and electrical systems.

You’ll likely come from a background involving automated machinery, EPOS, retail equipment, white goods, catering equipment, or similar electro-mechanical environments.

Requirements

  * Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer role

  * Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability

  * Experience installing, servicing and repairing equipment on customer sites

  * Confident working independently and managing your own workload

  * Good communication skills and a professional manner with customers

  * Comfortable using email, online systems and electronic job reporting tools

  * Full UK driving licence

  * Applicants should ideally be based within or close to the advertised region
