Job Description
We are seeking an electrically skilled Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team.
Home based, you will support clients along the M4 corridor (and sometimes beyond). You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have previous practical experience of Wastewater / Water treatment, Aeration Control and Blower staging (pump staging). This is an electrical NOT mechanical role.
The role is offered with a base salary of £40 - £60K, depending on your level of experience. It also comes with the following payments:
£40 GPB per diem when travelling to a customer site
All travel expenses including car rental, hotel and flights
55p per mile when using own car
Overtime payment
Company credit card
Responsibilities
* Conduct on-site servicing, repairs, and maintenance of water treatment equipment (specifically blowers and pumps). Electrical
* Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
* Provide training and support to clients on the proper use of equipment.
* Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used and prepare field service reports.
* Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role is essential (minimum 3 years).
* Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to work with various tools and equipment.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) & VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) experience is highly desirable.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
* A valid driving licence is essential for travel to client sites.
* A valid passport
Qualifications
* Ideally an apprenticeship in electrical maintenance or similar
* CSCS card (preferably ECS)
* SSSTS/SMSTS (ideal not essential)
* NEBOSH OR IOSH (ideal not essential)Before You Apply
