Field Vehicle Technician – EV & ICE Buses
Location: Field Based (reporting to Thurrock Service Centre)
Employment Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: £42,804 + shift allowance (up to 30%)
About the Role
We are seeking a Field Vehicle Technician – EV & ICE Buses to support our growing fleet of electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) buses. You’ll be the go-to expert for diagnostics, servicing, and repairs across multiple customer sites. This is a varied, hands-on field role ideal for someone who thrives on technical challenges and autonomy.
As a Field Vehicle Technician – EV & ICE Buses, you’ll play a vital role in keeping public transport vehicles road-ready, delivering reliable service to operators and passengers alike.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair faults on EV and ICE-powered buses
Carry out routine maintenance and safety inspections
Provide on-site technical support to customer depots
Complete accurate job documentation and digital reports
Liaise with technical teams to resolve complex issues
You will also represent the company in a professional manner as a Field Vehicle Technician – EV & ICE Buses, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction at every interaction.
Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence and PSV Licence
Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance (City & Guilds or equivalent)
EV high-voltage system training
Solid diagnostic skills across both ICE and electric systems
