The Opportunity:
Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of a business that is based in the Altham area. This company has a turnover of circa 10 million pounds, and has been operating since 2017. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the financial performance of the Company's finance operation including reporting, inputting of invoices, payment runs, and monitoring of costs. You would be able to work on a hybrid basis once you're fully trained (1 day a week from home).

Your New Role as the Finance Assistant:
• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records
• Input of all invoices and population of all payment runs, including uploading to the bank in preparation of payment runs
• Monitoring of project costings and reporting to the Finance Manager for analysis
• Management of PO processes and matching to invoices
• Support monthly payroll and record staff expenses
• Maintenance of finance files and record keeping
• Upkeep of the fixed asset register and reporting to FM
• Perform bank reconciliations and review debtor and creditor accounts for all companies
• Perform credit control activities and provide information for cash flow document updating
• Work with staff across the organisation to resolve queries
• Support the production of monthly management reports
• Input and production of weekly/daily CF forecasting for all companies
• Ensuring accurate and timely customer invoicing, processing of journals, and processing supplier invoices
• Ensuring that VAT codes are correctly input
• Reviewing and reconciling Debtor and Creditor Accounts (including preparation of prepayments and accruals)
• Performing a variety of accounting reconciliations supported by the FC/FD
• Management of 'contracts' log' and vehicles, upkeeping/documentation as needed
• Be the main point of contact for finance queries and support as needed
• Ensure the upkeep of all accounting software
• Ensure the upkeep of company records and required files
• Developing and improving controls and procedures to support efficiency and optimum performance in collaboration with FM
• Supporting the FM with ad hoc requests as required.
• Maintenance of liabilities log and assets, to report to management
• Send out and monitor new contractors' forms
• Monitor of expense cards and internal spend through departments including weekly reports
Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required to Apply:
• Part Qualified AAT or equivalent and actively pursuing qualification (DESIRABLE)
• At least 3 years Finance work experience, 2 years of accounting and reporting (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to understand contractual terms and requirements for documenting of transactions (ESSENTIAL)
• Demonstrable Intermediate Excel skills (ESSENTIAL)
• Numerate and good attention to detail (ESSENTIAL)
• Able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility (ESSENTIAL)
• Motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and strong desire to support the team in meeting organisational objectives (ESSENTIAL)
• Good planning and organisational skills (ESSENTIAL)
• Good time-management skills (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to resolve problems and queries quickly and efficiently (ESSENTIAL)
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (ESSENTIAL)
Summary:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an expanding business with a tight knit team. The company has a turnover of circa 10 million pounds and is based near junction 8 of the M65. You will be offered a salary up to £28,000, and you can work from home 1 day a week.
