Job Description
Axon Moore are working with a large FMCG business based in North Manchester, to recruit a Finance Business Partner. The business is well established and gearing up for the next period of growth by going through some internal process and system changes. They have an opening which will focus on their capital expenditure spends.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hardworking and confident in what will be a very collaborative role. While you will be owning this process and the sole person for it, you will interact with many stakeholders across the business.
Salary and benefits:
Salary - £40-45k DOE plus study support where needed, 33 days holiday including 5 flexible bank holidays, up to 8% pension, free parking, life insurance 3x your salary, 9-5 core hours with flexibility and hybrid working 2-3 days in the office.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive capital expenditure reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all business units.
Assist with monthly reporting, budget preparation, and forecasting processes for shared services and supply chain.
Track actual and committed capital spend, including leased assets and future phasing, ensuring a clear, up-to-date financial picture.
Coordinate and review post investment appraisals to ensure timely completion, capture lessons learned, and support continuous improvement across all divisions.
Contribute to reports and presentations for senior leadership and capital committee meetings to aid in strategic decision-making.
Review capital additions for adherence to financial policies, including asset classification, lease treatment, and spend controls.
Deliver timely analysis and insights on Capex and lease projects to support senior leadership, budgeting, and long-term planning.
Act as subject matter expert for financial systems related to Capex, supporting users across departments and driving system improvements.
strong communication with stakeholders, uphold data confidentiality, ensure compliance with financial controls, and drive process standardisation and continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits related to capital expenditure and approvals.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
Part ACCA/CIMA or Qualified by Experience.
Month end financial reporting experience in a large business.
Experience with SAP would be beneficial.
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP/pivot tables) are essential.
Good commercial awareness and able to influence at all levels.
Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail.
Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner.
Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills.
