Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Bedfordshire for a Finance Business Partner (Technical) to join the team on a permanent basis. The postholder will lead on technical accounting within the authority and will deliver the Council’s Financial Statements in line with Statutory requirements and timescales.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality technical financial services including:
Closure of Accounts
Technical Financial Advice
Treasury Management
Capital Investment Appraisal and Capital Accounting
Lead on Capital Strategy development, capital planning and annual capital budget process and provide financial advice and guidance on financial developments
Lead on the closure of accounts and the production of the Statement of Accounts.
Provide support and a robust challenge throughout the financial year in relation to capital budget monitoring complying at all times with agreed timetables.Candidate Criteria
CCAB/CIMA Qualified with post qualification experience in a similar role
Experience of working in a technical accounting role within a Local Authority
Experience of leading on closure of accounts, including preparation of statement of accounts and liaising with external audit.
