Job Title: Finance Controller
Location: Bolton
Pay Rate/Salary: £35,000 to £40,000

We are hiring for a Finance Controller with proven experience in managing financial operations and leading small finance teams, based in Bolton. You’ll be working within a forward-thinking company in the construction and facilities management sector, ensuring smooth financial processes and compliance while supporting the wider business with accurate reporting.
Duties of a Finance Controller
In this role, you will be part of the finance function, working closely with senior management to maintain accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial matters. You will be responsible for:
· Coordinating the finance team’s daily operations to meet business deadlines
· Managing incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
· Overseeing the finance inbox, prioritising and resolving queries promptly
· Chasing outstanding invoices and keeping detailed records of communications
· Running payroll with precision and compliance
· Handling purchase orders and invoice processes from start to finish
· Preparing accurate financial reports for senior management
· Supporting audits and ensuring regulatory compliance
Skills and experience of a Finance Controller
As a Finance Controller, you should have experience in:
· Managing finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable
· Using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial tracking
It would be beneficial to the Finance Controller role if you also had:
· Experience using Xero software
· Familiarity with industry tools such as Big Change
· Knowledge of invoice financing processes
· Understanding of HR documentation management
· Previous experience in payroll administration
