Barlborough, South Yorkshire
£55,000-£65,000 (banding is a guide only)
Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 4:45pm (on-site)
Permanent, full-time
We are supporting a rapidly expanding manufacturing group navigating a transition from £8m to c.£90m group turnover following an acquisition and merger. As the business scales, the finance function needs someone who can own the numbers day-to-day and help shape the financial infrastructure for the future.
This is not a “review and delegate” type role, we are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager who is comfortable producing the figures, analysing performance and guiding the financial direction of the business, while also supporting the development of the team.
Industry experience is essential. Candidates with practice-only backgrounds will unfortunately not be considered.
The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller and senior leadership team, you will take ownership of daily financial operations, month-end processes and management accounts production, while supporting improvement of controls, reporting structures and financial planning.
This role suits someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, getting into the detail and personally producing accurate, meaningful financial output-not just overseeing it.
Key Responsibilities
* Full ownership of month-end close and production of management accounts with meaningful commentary.
* Hands-on preparation of journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments (not just review).
* Weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting and budget reporting.
* Production of board packs, KPI reporting and business performance analysis.
* Costing, margin, overhead and operational performance tracking across manufacturing sites.
* Supporting and mentoring junior finance team members (while still being operational yourself).
* Enhancing systems, reporting processes and internal controls to support scale.
* Acting as a proactive business partner to operational and commercial teams.
Requirements
* Experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant within manufacturing.
* Hands-on approach to producing financial and management reporting.
* QBE / Part-Qualified / Fully Qualified CIMA or ACCA.
* Strong Excel and confident systems capability.
* Ability to translate financial data into clear, commercial insight.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
