Job Description
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnering with a manufacturing business on the appointment of a newly created Finance Manager position, based in Cumbria.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day finance operations of the site, ensuring robust financial controls and delivering timely management information to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure strong financial controls are in place
* Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control activities
* Manage cash flow, daily banking and balance sheet reconciliations
* Process monthly payroll and associated HMRC submissions
* Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting for senior stakeholders
* Provide financial analysis and insight to support operational decision-making
* Identify opportunities for cost control and business improvement
* Prepare and submit VAT returns
* Support year-end audit requirements and statutory compliance
* Manage and develop a small finance and administration team
About You
* Previous experience managing the finance function within an SME environment
* Strong understanding of management accounts, cash flow and financial controls
* Strong Excel skills and commercial awareness
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
* AAT qualified, higher-level qualification or qualified by experienceBefore You Apply
