Job Description

Role: Finance Manager Contract: Permanent Salary: £50 – 57,000 Location: Coventry CV5 Benefits: Free parking, hybrid working, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, private healthcare and pension scheme We are working on behalf of an established organisation seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, as well as tax, payroll, pension, gift aid, cash management, purchasing and credit control. You will also be leading a team of 5, and completing 121s and personal development plans. This role works closely with the CEO, whereby you will actively support them in the delivery of the organisation’s financial objectives and operational plan. You will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information to the senior management team and Board, whilst ensuring the Charity’s financial compliance. The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant (AAT, ACCA level or above) or qualified by experience within another SME environment. Confident user of Sage. Knowledge of charitable / not for profit accounting and statutory reporting would be advantageous. For the first 3-4 months this will be a full-time office based position working Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm at their offices in Meriden Coventry CV5. After this period, you will then move to their hybrid working model which is 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Role and responsibilities: * As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, as well as tax, payroll, pension, gift aid, cash management, purchasing and credit control * Ensure that all income and revenue is properly documented, with appropriate controls in place for all supplier purchases and invoices * Controlling the management of debtors and creditors with the finance team * Liaise with managers and budget holders regarding monitoring of budgets and report monthly * Maintaining and checking capital purchases within a fixed asset register * Line management responsibility for the Finance team of 5 including 121s and PDPs * Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, supporting the team with transactional processes when required * Lead the year end audit of the financial accounts * Manage cash flow reporting and working capital management * Liaise with external Auditors, banks and HMRC * Responsibility for financial regulatory compliance, including VAT and Gift Aid * Advise on matters related to charity and company law, financial implications of all major contracts including partnership agreements * Support the senior management team with producing MI and any other financial tasks to improve business performance as required Skills and experience required: * Proven work history as a Finance Manager or similar in a thriving SME is essential * Qualified Accountant (AAT, ACCA) or qualified by experience * Knowledge of charitable / not for profit accounting and statutory reporting would be advantageous * Analytical mindset and commercially focused nature * Organised, task focused nature with excellent attention to detail * Ability to build strong professional relationships * Ability to manage a successful team with an approachable manner Benefits: * Competitive basic salary * Free parking * 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays * Private healthcare * Pension scheme If you are an experienced Finance Manager, looking for a new challenge to join an established organisation then please click to apply
