As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are now looking to bring a Financial Controller into the team to help support our next phase of development and ensure the financial strength of the group.
Purpose of the role
To ensure the financial health of the company is closely monitored, protected, and enhanced. Ensure that all applicable regulatory requirements are adhered to.
This is to be achieved through developing, owning and executing the finance strategy which will be aligned with Artisan Group’s overall strategic plan.
Primary responsibilities
Strategy
Own and deliver the finance strategy, ensuring that it is subsequently clearly brought to life and delivered upon.
Support, and structure, the strategic growth of the company and expansion.
Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, ensuring our chosen markets are profitable at all times, and suggest adjustments to commercial offerings where required.
Production of monthly/annual management accounts providing insight on performance to aid business planning and strategic decision making;
Manage credit risk for Artisan Group ensuring that it has adequate controls in place and that these are adhered to and aligned with the risk appetite of the business.
Oversee the temp/contractor payroll ensuring accuracy is the highest priority.
Set the company budget with the Managing Director and the department heads ensuring a challenging but achievable budget is set.
Oversee the annual audit, ensuring all queries are resolved to satisfaction and in a timely manner.
Continuously review the finance processes with a view to making them as lean and efficient as possible.
Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and training is given to the company to a good standard.
Commercial finance
Be a business partner, ensuring that the business is challenged and supported in equal measure to maintain profitable accelerated growth.
Ensure that the KPIs of the business are fit for purpose, reviewed, and acted upon where required.
Ensure that there is timely, accurate and robust reporting in place to monitor delivery against targets. Provide business insight through proactive analysis to support business growth, innovation and investment.
Support with commercial negotiations with suppliers, clients and other parties where required.
Ensure that investment and headcount is aligned appropriately with our markets, to maximise revenue, NFI/GP, and PBT. Recommend reallocation of investment in a timely fashion to maximise business performance, ROI and growth. Work with the MD to produce investment and commercials packs as required.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships at the Finance c -suite level.
Maximise NFI/GP margins within our existing and potential clients by collaborating with the sales team.
Work with all other functions of the wider business to ensure collaboration and best practice, be clear on how their strategies align with your areas of responsibility and the overall strategy, enabling the business to hit its growth targets.
Produce accurate forecasts with input from sales and other departments.
Team management
Lead, develop and grow the finance and admin/compliance team
Ensure that appropriate monthly and annual objectives are in place for all staff, and drive them to achieve and exceed these.
Ensure that performance appraisals are conducted on a regular and consistent basis throughout the year and the outcomes recorded and acted upon.
Implement appropriate learning and development programmes that are designed to encourage high and improving performance amongst staff.
Ensure that the welfare and motivation of the entire finance team is a priority.

Qualifications & experience
Chartered Accountant CIMA / ACCA or equivalent
