Finance Officer
Permanent
Cheadle Hulme (2 days in-office, 3 days from home)
Full-time or part-time (3–5 days per week) available, 9am–4pm (30-minute lunch), 3pm finish on Fridays
£30,000 – £40,000 per annum + 10% employer pension + 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + free parking + Christmas bonus + free trade union membership
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven Finance Officer to join two well-established organisations.
Our clients are not-for-profit financial institutions dedicated to giving back to their communities by providing ethical financial services to those in need. Established for over 25 years, they serve members through membership in a large UK trade union.
They’re looking for a Finance Officer with bookkeeping and reconciliation experience who can take ownership of financial processes across both their organisation and a partner organisation. This role will involve preparing budgets, liaising with auditors, completing PRA quarterly returns and annual accounts, and ensuring all financial processes are followed. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEOs and teams at both organisations, with the chance to influence financial planning and strategy.

The role
Day-to-day responsibilities
* Undertake bookkeeping and reconciliations
* Prepare budgets and contribute to financial planning
* Liaise with auditors and support annual accounts for the AGM
* Complete PRA quarterly returns
* Ensure other staff members follow financial processes
* Complete monthly reconciliations across all accounts
* Support the development of the business plan and strategic financial projects

The Person
Essential
* Experience with reconciliations
* Bookkeeping experience
* AAT Level 3 qualified
* Confident independently managing finances for an organisation
Desirable
* Financial services experience
Nice-to-have
* Credit Union experience
* Not-for-profit experience
