Job Description

Finance Officer | Gloucester | Permanent | Part Time (3 days per week - must include a Tuesday and ideally a Thursday, where possible) | up to £40,000 pro - rated The Company My client is within the charity sector Job Summary Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the delivery of monthly management accounts, budget monitoring, performance and forecasting information to the Senior Management Team. To include the preparation and collation of information to assist with the annual external audit and statutory accounts compilation. Main Responsibilities Transactional finance: * Review and oversight of the work undertaken by the Finance Assistant * Ensuring accuracy of key balance sheet reconciliations * Maintenance of the fixed asset register, ensuring that all additions, disposals, depreciation and QBO class allocations are correctly and accurately recorded * Management of payroll processes * Day to day management of approval workflows Reporting: * Production of monthly management accounts and internal stakeholder reports * Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns * Completion of statutory returns * Production and ownership of reports for funders and external stakeholders, as required * Supporting the Head of Finance with: - annual financial statements and external audit preparation - budget setting, re-forecasting and monitoring of performance against budgets * Presenting financial information to Senior Management Team (SMT) and others in a way which is clear and easy to understand * Reviewing and improving financial processes within the charity to ensure best practice is implemented appropriately Personal Profile * Experience of working in a Management Accountant role * Knowledge and experience of QuickBooks Online * Experience in preparing monthly management accounts and collation of information for annual accounts * Ability to work at pace and meet deadlines, where others may have conflicting priorities * Accountancy qualification – or part qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA * HMRC & VAT regulation For further information, please contact Rhian Mountjoy By responding, we will register you as a candidate with Seymour John Limited.
