The opportunity

We’re working with a well-established client to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Telford. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working at pace and being involved across multiple areas of finance and business operations.

You’ll support the day-to-day running of finance, ensuring processes are completed accurately and on time while also getting involved in wider administrative and operational tasks.

Key responsibilities as a Financial Accountant 

Processing invoices and receipts

Managing weekly payment runs and issuing remittance advice

Updating financial information within the system

Sales Ledger

Credit control 

Reporting 

Carrying out daily bank reconciliations

Processing expenses

General Ledger tasks

VAT Reporting

Budgeting and Forecasting

Auditing 

Supporting other departments when required

What we’re looking for

AAT Level 3 minimum, ideally Level 4 qualified
Previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role
Experience using Oracle or a similar ERP system would be beneficial
Good working knowledge of Excel and standard IT systems
Strong organisation and time management skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Able to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment

Confident communicator with a proactive approach

This role will suit someone who is reliable, organised and happy to get stuck in. You’ll be comfortable working at a steady pace, taking ownership of your tasks and supporting the wider team where needed. A positive attitude and willingness to help out across the business are key.
