Job Description
Financial Accountant
We're looking for an ambitious and dynamic Financial Accountant to join our team. This exciting opportunity would suit a fully qualified Financial Accountant coming from a practice or audit background, that would like to fast track their career, developing skills to a Finance Director level over the next 3 years.
The business is a FMCG Brand House, so the successful candidate will also gain invaluable experience working side-by-side with the Finance Director in completing due diligence as well as Mergers & Acquisitions.
The role is responsible for all aspects of maintaining our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. They would be responsible for payroll, accounts receivable and payable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, monthly management information reporting and consolidation of accounts. The minimum qualification is a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and ideally two to three years’ experience in practice.
The role is also Hybrid/ Remote, with the need to come into the office only 2 or 3 days a week.
Financial Accountant duties
* Processing invoices from suppliers and customers and ensuring the accounts payable and receivable balances are up to date and accurate.
* Ensuring the bank balance is reconciled daily and balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
* Preparing the monthly Management Information pack for management and Board.
* Processing monthly payroll and ensuring NI and PAYE payments are sent to HMRC and up to date.
* Processing a weekly pay run for suppliers.
* Assisting the Finance Director in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
* Assisting the Finance Director with Due Diligence on potential acquisitions.
* Preparing and issuing quarterly VAT returns.
* Assist auditors with annual audit.
* Other duties as required.
Other requirements (ideal but not necessary)
* Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally Microsoft 365 Business Central/Dynamics
* Competent in the use of Excel eg pivot tables, vlookup, modelling
* Strong communication skills and strong can-do attitudeBefore You Apply
