Job Description
Anderson Knight are delighted to be partnering with our client, a market leading Scottish business, on the senior appointment of a Financial Controller. This is a critical appointment at executive level and will report directly to board.
This is a strategic role, you will work closely with board level, playing a key role in driving growth and profitability by identifying and driving change initiatives as well as undertaking in depth financial analysis, working with key stakeholders across the business to add value and enhance performance.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Produce monthly management accounts for presentation to board & key management
* Contribute significant commercial value to business
* Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes
* Conduct in depth financial analysis to drive profitability and success
* Develop cross function KPI’s
* Prepare reports to aid strategic decision-making process
* Champion development of financial & operational excellence through revenue enhancement & cost control initiatives
* Business partnering with key operational staff to drive performance growth
* Lead budgeting & forecasting processes
* Build strong relationship with external stakeholders, including bank and investors
* Treasury management
* Regular reconciliations of P&L and Balance Sheet
* Ensure robust financial controls
* Liaison with Auditors, HMRC & relevant legislative bodies
* Lead and develop a small finance team
* Adhoc project work
The main candidate will be:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CA, CIMA)
* Strong commercial experience
* Strategic mindset with ability to influence decision making
* Experience of liaising with banks, investors, HMRC etc
* Experience leading a small finance team
* Resilient and confident working in a fast paced environment
To succeed in this role you will need excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, both financial and non financial.
