Job Summary
The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the company’s financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. This role is critical in maintaining robust financial controls and driving the financial performance of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare sector regulations and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP).
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with operational needs.
• Lead financial systems upgrades and process improvements.
Requirements
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within healthcare or regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance in the UK healthcare sector.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
