Job Opportunity: Temporary Financial Controller
Location: Derby, DE21
Contract Type: Temporary (3 - 6 months, with potential extension)
Start Date: July 2025
Day Rate: £350 per day
Are you an experienced Financial Controller ready to hit the ground running in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? My client is looking for a hands-on finance professional to join our team on a temporary basis, taking ownership of the finance function during a critical phase of transition and change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
* Prepare, review, and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
* Manage cash flow and working capital effectively
* Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal controls
* Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
* Provide oversight and support to the finance team where required
* Deliver insightful financial analysis to senior leadership to aid decision-making
What We’re Looking For:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
* Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, compliance, and controls
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems
* Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities

* Proactive, detail-focused, and solutions-oriented
* Confident communicator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders
* Adaptable and resourceful, with a “roll up your sleeves” approach
* Available to start immediately or at short notice
